American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Book

Thursday, May 7, 2009 by Rick Sasso, MD

This past year I was the moderator of an instructional course at a continuing medical education meeting sponsored by the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS).  This instructional course was entitled, “Thoracolumbar Trauma”.  Following this course, I was asked by the AAOS to write four book chapters for their annual publication, Instructional Course Lectures.

Each year AAOS publishes a book, which includes their award-winning presentations at meetings throughout the year.  In their recent edition; Instructional Course Lectures Volume 58, 2008, I have co-authored four chapters.  These chapters are:

  1. Emergency Evaluation, Imaging and Classification of Thoracolumbar Injuries
  2. Thoracolumbar Spinal Fractures
  3. Surgical Treatment of Thoracolumbar Fractures
  4. Sacral Fractures
